Is The Open Road Calling You?

Is Full-time RV’ing A Real Life?
For people who want to join the estimated one million full-timers, the road to freedom just got a little smoother. And it’s the real adventure! A new book ’10 Easy Steps to Full-Time RV Freedom’
We just got back from an extra long weekend of camping, fishing, and rain. Yes, lots of the wet and mud. And the lightning! God’s show out did the feeble attempts at fireworks on Canada Day eve. You know what else? It was one of the best 4 days we’ve had!
The question is, “Do I want to go RV’ing full time?” Not yet. However, apparently I’m one of the few.
Baby boomers are claiming their own Independence Day
and hitting the road to live in their RVs
Oops, you guessed. I’m borderline boomer myself – just barely though.
Anyway, my great friend, Kate Fowler, on the road for two years, just released “10 Easy Steps to Full-Time RV Freedom.” The last I spoke with her she was in Arizona. Before that, Calgary, and before that Vancouver Island. And all in a span of about 4 months.
Her new book shows others how they can live in their RVs.
“Everyone I meet on the road asks the same questions I did when I first started out – how much it costs, how to get your mail, how to choose a permanent residence,” says Kate. “The book provides answers so others can benefit from my learning curve and research.”
More than a how-to, Fowler includes stories from other full-timers.
- insider-tips from Peggi McDonald who has been RVing full-time with her husband John for over 21 years and claims it’s still not enough.
- Malia Lane, who at 50 years old struck out on her own to follow her dream of new places and adventure.
- Howard Payne and his wife Linda who, while still in their forties, left behind a lucrative career and luxurious home to find deeper happiness and connection to each other and the world.
The stories share the good, the bad and gritty details like how much money you will need, best experiences on the road and the hardest-learned lessons.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time RV’ing. This is the type of lifestyle my hubby aspires to. My grandparents RV full-time almost, and love every minute of it. They are always full of stories from their latest adventures all across North America. Happy Summer!

Hi Christina,
Why don’t you let Kate know? And she could
even add your grandparents stories to an updated version?
That would be great and thanks so much for letting us know.
great job today!

Hi Christina. Patricia is right — I’d be delighted to have your grandparent’s story for a future edition.
Also, if your hubby aspires to this lifestyle …there’s no reason to wait until you both retire. Many people work while they travel.
Remember, you ‘can’ have what you want…just decide what it is and then move toward it.
Thanks for letting your readers know about my new book Patricia!
All the best,
Kate
