Let’s Get Technical for a Second
What is Key Word Density and Why is it Important?
Right at the start here, I want to clarify that Research pretty much means Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and visa versa.
Getting results from your efforts can take a long time to kick in (6-8 months in most cases), but it can bring you lots of quality, niche traffic.
What’s SEO?
SEO or Search Engine Optimization is the detailed process of gathering information for your salesletter research efforts about what customers are looking for. Then it’s adding those words and phrases into your content on your web site.
Here’s what SEO is not. Graphical text, flash movies, javascript and any fancy flavour on your web site does not count. Search engine spiders (that’s what they’re called) can’t read pictures and graphics.
Only words count!
Let’s talk about what this means.
There are important aspects you require to make sure your website is performing for you. Here are four stages in SEO (I won’t go into detail here, but it gives you a clue as to effort required) you need.
- Your Site Analytics
- Keyword Research
- On Page Optimization
- Off Page Optimization
Fall In Love With Research Or Farm It Out!
Those web sites that consistently sit in the top 10 rankings each time you Google a phrase, word or your “how to request”, normally have a solid amount of keyword rich text in all their web pages.
That means once you find the right batch of words and phrases people are searching you with, you have to weave them “intelligently” into your web site content – on all your pages.
Here is a brief process for researching:
There are some good free online resources you can use to find the right keywords for your site.
Just do a search for “keyword tool” on any search engine and you’ll find them. Google of course has great tools.
Important note: There’s no guarantee these that these keywords will improve your web sites performance. However, most Internet marketers agree that this research and adding keywords to your SEO process is a crucial component of any Web marketing plan.

And there are more than these.
Here’s briefly how to do the research
in the research tools:
1. Type in a keyword related to the industry you are searching
2. Create a list of all the questions people are asking within that topic
3. Dig around to find the real reason (people search for a how, but behind all of this there is a “why” …why does this person want to take landscape pictures and where)
4. Formulate a content rich article from your findings
I’m even giving you the 5 step PROCESS to develop
SEO copy for your own web page:
- List the key phrases you’ll use in the web page.
- Write out key “titles” (headlines using the unique, attention grabbing, urgent words -make them good titles)
- Write the copy - free flow - then insert the key phrase headlines and subheads throughout. Note: search engines ignore and’s or buts so they don’t count for anything.
- Go to your web page. Right click, view source and find key phrase density - if it’s slim to none, have your web person or you add some relevant keywords. Note: keyword density should be a 5.5% word density per 250 word count
- Use 5-7 keyword tags for the blue metatags line above web site (white list concept - so search engines don’t ban you) Extra note: add incoming links - search engines love links, links, links.
